Forever and Rise Against Hunger

What is Rise Against Hunger and what does the organisation do?

At Forever we are so proud to be supporting the charity Rise Against Hunger ( An international hunger relief organisation that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable. They do this by providing food packages to those who are in immediate need – often school children, patients in hospitals or vulnerable adults in the community.

Worldwide, 821 million people do not eat enough. From twenty cities in the United States, six international locations in South Africa, Malaysia, the Philippines, Italy, India and Peru, Rise Against Hunger involves volunteers from churches, schools, associations, as well as companies like us, in this project.

What has Forever done so far to raise funds? What targets did Forever meet in 2017 & 2018?

Forever Living Products held its first meal packaging event with Rise Against Hunger (previously Stop Hunger Now) in 2015 when employees packaged 300,000 meals at a Global Rally in Singapore. In 2016, the event was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, where 350,000 meals were packaged.

In 2017, a challenge was set by Forever Living Products to pack one million meals by the end of the year. Many Forever Country Offices around the world committed to reaching the one million meal goal for 2017. The event kicked off with an event to package more than 50,000 meals at the Home Office in Scottsdale, Arizona, then in January, Sweden committed to packaging 200,000 meals, with Germany adding an additional 26,000. India, Italy and Greece have also packaged more than 150,000 meals combined. In addition, Forever Living Products organised an event to package several hundred thousand meals at the 2017 Global Rally in Dubai last April.

To contribute even more to this, Forever UK also held its first Rise Against Hunger meal-packing event on Saturday 12th August 2017. Over 135,000 food parcels consisting of enriched rice, soy protein and dried vegetables were packed by 600 volunteers from all over the country. The meals were then distributed to vulnerable children at schools in Zimbabwe where for many, it will be their one and only meal of the day!

On Sunday, 19th August 2018 we smashed our target of packing 130,000 meals in just a few hours! During this year’s event Forever was delighted to welcome Warwick’s Mayor who kick-started a fantastic day for all. We also welcomed BBC TV Midlands who covered the event and this was broadcast as part of the BBC Midlands TV regional news on Sunday evening. We were also part of BBC radio Coventry & Warwickshire’s Gold & Treasures live broadcast when reporter Emily joined in with the packing and interviewed Bob Parker.

Bob was also interviewed by Free radio and this was broadcast as part of three morning news segments on Sunday; Free radio is the largest radio network in the Midlands with 800K weekly listeners! In addition, the Warwick Courier and Leamington Observer also carried stories leading up to the event.

Thanks to all our amazing volunteers who helped in 2017 & 2018! We smashed our global goal of reaching over one million meals (2,741,030 meals packed, 24,918 lives nourished, 11,706 volunteers engaged, 27 global events held) and we now plan to pack even more in 2019!

What are Forever’s targets for this year and next year?

Forever has set a challenge of packing and donating a whopping five million meals over the next two years to this worthy cause – a figure that we believe is achievable if all Forever Country Offices band together!

This year the UK plan to hold another successful packing event in August.

Once again, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all who volunteered – you’re amazing. Please click this link to view a video of the day. #foreverproud

Forever’s fundraising ideas

Will you join us in our attempt to end world hunger by 2030?  We have put together some fundraising ideas to help you with your plans:

  • Charity walk – Whether you walk outside or on a treadmill, choose a distance and ask people if they would sponsor you per mile.
  • Girls’ night in – It's simple, just invite your friends round and ask them to donate the amount they would usually spend on a night out towards Rise Against Hunger.
  • Bake sale – Whether you run the event at work, school or your home, bake as much as you can and sell by the slice.
  • Auction – Do you have some fab antiques or collectables? Organise an auction event and sell them for charity.
  • Afternoon tea – We're a nation of tea drinkers, so your event is sure to prove popular.
  • Coffee mornings – Most people rely on a coffee to get them through the day, so why not host a coffee morning?
  • Themed dinner party – Do you like to socialise? Then host your own dinner party and charge people a set fee for food and drinks.
  • Football game – Raise funds by charging a player fee.
  • Name the stuffed animal – A simple guessing game where people pay to guess the of name the teddy, bunny or bear. Whoever guesses correctly wins the toy!

We will be releasing more information about our partnership and fundraising initiatives as and when available, so please keep an eye on the weekly e-newsletters and social media channels. In the meantime, if you would like to learn more about Forever and Rise Against Hunger, please visit
